Hats off to the dev for his work, you're awesome! Also, the fact it runs on a "visit" basis makes trusting it even easier. Didn't have to enable the optional option. - Csillagos értékelés: 3 / 5készítette: BillyCool, 25 napjaThe extension works well...most of the time. Occasionally and at random, while active, the volume just boosts to what feels like a million percent, causes audio to be distorted and extremely and uncomfortably loud. After a few seconds it returns to normal. I lived up with it for a bit, I can't use it anymore.

közzétéve: 3 napjaThis shouldn't be an issue with the plugin.
Not sure why you're having that issue, do you have anything else interacting with audio / firefox?
For convenience upon clicking, the slider is in focus, perhaps you have a device where the direction is locking to the right? Like in windows if you have an xbox controller plugged in with joystick drift. - Csillagos értékelés: 5 / 5készítette: Firefox felhasználó 17802245, egy hónapjaWrites up and down for each tab

But i can't get it to work. On one site (movies7.to), it was useless. On another (archive.org), it muted the volume and i couldnt seem to re-tune it. i figure on another, it will also be a bother to rather than imrpovement of my experience...
I see that this is manifeset (aka "version?") 3. And that it is not necessary to give the permission for access to all websites' information?
what about the info on the single website upon which we apply the volume control add-on. could you provide a statement about what website info this extension searches for / analyzes, and how it uses this information? is it linked to our identities? could it be used for nefarious purposes if in the wrong hands? etc.
thanks again. i would ilke to use it.Fejlesztői válasz
közzétéve: egy hónapjaAs for site compatibility, there's issues where CDN (content delivery network) has strict CSP.
CSP denies any extension from accessing the hosted resource.
The extra permission is necessary to see iframes (content loaded from a different site in a frame within the current site).
You can view the code, it doesn't see any information it just accesses the html audio/video and doesn't have any outgoing code, it just accesses the tab checks for audio then uses a js to check iframes for audio.
I've been trying to figure a way for firefox to not load the extension on certain sites but its not working it has only worked within chromium.... So site compatibility has been getting worse. - Csillagos értékelés: 5 / 5készítette: kadjy, egy hónapja

- Csillagos értékelés: 1 / 5készítette: Dav, 2 hónapjaIt's stopped working completely. Makes no adjustments to volume and prevents any audio playing on several sites. Tried the permissions thing suggested in the latest change notes, but still won't work so I had to uninstall it.
EDIT: There is no visible means to reply directly. No sound on YouTube or Imgur. Only other plugins are Malwayre Bytes, Surfsharf VPN, LastPass and Gramerly.Fejlesztői válasz

This extension does break bing for me and i found that out after enabling half of my extensions each time and narrowing down from there until i landed on this extension that was breaking bing
so i have to disable it when i want to use bingFejlesztői válasz
közzétéve: 2 hónapjaAre you using the all_urls permission?
I haven't had issues with the permission given or not but the only real troubleshooting is that as this manipulates elements within webpages (audio/video) and some sites tell Firefox "you're not allowed to".
If all URLs is set on some sites they won't load audio elements at all because of those annoying security policies
On other sites with relaxed security policies the extension will only be able to manipulate audio with all_urls permission because the video is an iframe loaded from a seperate site - Csillagos értékelés: 2 / 5készítette: DonVergo, 3 hónapjaNot working on the website I planned to use it for. Apparently it does work on YouTube but the audio there is mostly fine.

közzétéve: 3 hónapjaPlease tell me what site....
If you read the description, assigning permission to allow all urls in the permission options allows it to work on more sites.
Help me, help you, why just leave a negative review? It's open source and I do this as a hobby (I get nothing from it) and have spent countless hours working on it, so it's painful to see a negative review with no way of remedying it. - Csillagos értékelés: 3 / 5készítette: Alexandra, 3 hónapjaOverall the extension is really great, however it would be great if there were the ability to disable it for specific websites or for the extension to actually do nothing at +0 dB,
I am saying this, because currently there seems to be a bug with this extension that if you have it, and it has the permission "Access your data for all websites", videos in the online discord app do not make any sound.
I did check and without the extension or the permission that issue does not occur, however if i don't give the permission the teal dot of the extension requesting it is really annoying, so i think for now i will either remove it or simply disable it until and unless the issue gets resolved
(EDIT)
More specifically, video files in discord(at least ones with the .mov extension) don't make any sound, however everything else on discord still makes the sound with the extension activeFejlesztői válasz
közzétéve: 3 hónapjaThat's why such things are optional...
I have tried on discord, without issue, both with the extension enabled w/ optional permissions and without.
Alternatively to setting in the optional permissions, I think you can toggle it on a per site basis, by right clicking the extension and clicking "always on on *.com"
Sadly there's no method to quickly toggle the permissions on FF, I tried looking into setting a hotkey to enable/disable the extension but it wasn't working...
The default behavior is to only operate on click (when you click the extension, otherwise it shouldn't be running) - Csillagos értékelés: 5 / 5készítette: Firefox felhasználó 18304154, 3 hónapja
- Csillagos értékelés: 3 / 5készítette: TimJ, 3 hónapjaWhen it's working, it does the job perfectly. However, it broke audio in some context. For example, I was listening to a podcast and if I try to listen to it from the website there's no sound, but if I access the file directly it works. But I really like the simplicity of the UI, it's exactly what I needed.

közzétéve: 3 hónapjaHi, what podcast/site are you trying? Have you tried giving the extension the extra permissions? "Important: To add functionality to more websites, the permission "all_urls" was necessary, however with the recent update to manifest v3, it's optional. If the extension can't access audio on a certain site do the following: Right click the extension, click "manage extension", click the permission tab, allow "Access your data for all websites". This is a necessary permission to access iframes. The extension is open source and fully adheres to this repository. There's no form of analytics in this extension. So don't be afraid of the permissions." - Csillagos értékelés: 3 / 5készítette: Tim, 3 hónapjaI'd like a feature to add a combination of "site domain+volume setting" to the addon.
So it automatically adjusts the volume down if I open this domain/any site on it. - Csillagos értékelés: 5 / 5készítette: Firefox felhasználó 14198120, 3 hónapja

- Csillagos értékelés: 5 / 5készítette: NiyaShy, 4 hónapjaWorks as described. I'll never understand why certain sites (like Bandcamp or Patreon) don't have an on-site volume slider for their music widgets and instead just blast you at full volume... Being able to adjust the volume down per site/tab is just perfect and way better than having to temporarily turn down the volume for the whole browser instance. The FOSS nature and minimal permissions are the cherry on top that make this a perfect choice :)

- Csillagos értékelés: 5 / 5készítette: Becoming, 4 hónapjaGet this extension! It is excellent! Here is why:
- works perfectly
- open source
- streamlined
- contains extensive documentation
- minimal permissions required to function
- the developer is very active (see other review for his/her responses and fixes)
There are many extensions that provide volume boosting functionality. The ones I have tried are completely untrustworthy. The main issues I have are things like: ad injection, NOT open source, pure copycats of other extensions, and so forth. - Csillagos értékelés: 5 / 5készítette: Gabriel, 4 hónapjaPretty much the best Volume Controller in Firefox that I've found while also being pretty lightweight and straightforward.
